Pachal Waterfall – Highest waterfall of Nepal in Kalikot

The Pachal waterfall is considered one of the highest waterfalls in Nepal, with a fall height of 381 meters (1,250 ft). It is claimed that this waterfall is also the highest in Asia. It is located in Pachaljharna Gaupalika of Kalikot, Nepal. The height of Pachal Waterfall is found to be 16 meters higher than Hyatung Waterfall in Terhathum. This waterfall is among the 30 highest waterfalls in the world.

Hyatung Waterfall – Second highest waterfall in Terhathum

Kageshwari waterfall

Kageshwari waterfall is located in Kageshwari Manohara-1, Kathmandu. It is a small waterfall in the north-east of Kathmandu inside Shivpuri Nagarjuna National Park. Kageshwari is a combination of two words, Kag and eshwari. The word ‘Kag’ means ‘crow’ and ‘Eshwari or Ishowr’ means ‘God’. This waterfall is near Kageshwari temple. One can get there from the Gagalphedi Bus stand. From Purano Bus Park one can take a local bus and then from Chabahil – Jorpati – Thali – Bramakhel – Bhimsentar to Gagalphedi.

Chiseni Waterfall

Chiseni Waterfall is located near Budhanilkantha temple, Kathmandu. It is inside Shivpuri Nagarjuna National Park. Way to waterfall may be slippery so you have to be careful. It is not a big waterfall so it is suggested to visit during the rainy season or just a day after monsoon. But be aware of leeches during the monsoon season. You can enjoy bathing, swimming (small pool), and taking selfies.

Jhyampal Falls – Dhading

Lakhenchuli jharana is known as Lakhiswori jharana, Lakhanchuli waterfall. It is located in Nuwakot. It is one of the best waterfalls near Kathmandu Valley. It is located on the lap of Shivapuri National Park. It will take approximately 2-3 hours from Tokha to reach there.

Natural swimming pool near Kathmandu

Sisneri, Okhreni, Sundarijal and Jalbire jharana are the places for swimming. Among these, Sisneri natural swimming pool is popular as it is bigger than others. Okhreni swimming area is small but it’s beautiful. Jalbire jharana also known as Lamo jharana has a beautiful natural swimming pool. This natural swimming pool is well managed, just below the waterfall and there are proper toilets also.

Bhorle waterfall – Dolakha

Bhorle waterfall is located in Bigu Rural Municipality-4 Laduk in the northern part of Dolakha district called Singati. When the sun shines, you can easily see the rainbow in this waterfall. Bhorle Waterfall is also known as “Rainbow Falls”.

This waterfall falls from 20 meters on a road built at the foot of a rocky mountain above the river. The water of this waterfall flows into the Singti-Lamabagar and mixes into the Tamakosi River.

The upper Tamakosi hydropower project can be reached at a distance of 23 km through Bhorle waterfall. On holidays including Friday and Saturday, the road in the waterfall area is jammed by the crowd of tourists.

It takes 20 minutes to reach the Bhorle Falls, which is near the main market of the northern region, Singti. It is kilometers from Singti, the waterfall is reached from Charikot via a 39-kilometer road. This type of waterfall is rare in the world.

Suligad waterfall or Phoksundo Waterfall – Dolpo

Suligad Waterfall is located in Dolpo, near the Ringmo village. This village lies at the southern end of Phuksundo Lake. Suligad Waterfall is also known as Phoksundo Waterfall as it originated from the Phoksundo Lake. Near the outlet of the Lake, there is the country’s highest waterfall.

It is named after the Shey Phoksundo Lake and lies below the Phoksundo Lake. The waterfall is 167 meters long, the highest waterfall in Nepal. You must not miss this beautiful waterfall while on the Upper Dolpo trek.

Ganga Jamuna Waterfall – Dhading

Ganga Jamuna Waterfall is located Gangajmuna Rural Municipality-5, Dhandkhark (ढाँडखर्क) in Dhading district. This waterfall is in the Ganesha mountain range, which is the mountain of ruby (precious stone). There are two waterfalls named Ganga and Jamuna. People take a bath in this waterfall. There is a temple of Lord Shiva in the middle of the waterfall.

A big fair is held every year in Tripura Sundari temple near the waterfall, on the day of Haribodhani Ekadashi. There is a natural spring known as “Kukur Dhara” which means “Dog Spring” in English. There is a hill above the Ganga Jamuna waterfall, from where Ganesh Himal, Chandrigari, Dhading, Gorkha and Nuwakot can be seen. It is an attractive tourist destination.

Namaste Waterfall – Dhankuta

Namaste Waterfall is located in Bhedetar VDC of Dhankuta district. It is a two-tiered waterfall and is around 80 meters in height. Other attractions in this area are Dharan Kuthi Palace, a museum and the Himalayan range. One can see a rainbow-like, seven-colour formation in this waterfall. It is seen in the shape of Namaste while standing close to the waterfall. There is a changing room near the waterfall for changing clothes.

Tindhare Waterfall or Bahubali Jharna – Kavre

Once you arrive at Tindhare jharana, you’ll be greeted by the soothing sound of the waterfall and the serene atmosphere. The water flows into a pool, creating a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection. It is around 71 km away from Kathmandu.

Narchyang waterfall – Myagdi

Narchyang waterfall (नारच्याङ झरना) is located in Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi district. It lies along the Annapurna trekking trail at an elevation of 1400 m.

Rupse waterfall – Myagdi

One of the beautiful waterfalls in Nepal, Rupse Falls (रूप्से झरना) is located in Dana VDC of Myagdi District. It is a popular tourist attraction in this region also known as Annapurna Waterfall. It is a natural waterfall in Beni-Jomsom Highway route. The height of Rupse falls is more than 300 meters. Near Rupse Falls there is the deepest gorge in the world known as Kali Gandaki Gorge. It is popular among domestic tourists. From Jomsom it is approximately about 40 km and 110 km from Pokhara.

Ghorle Jharana – Sankhuwasabha

Ghorle Jharana is located in Panchkhapan municipality, Sankhuwasabha. It is 191 meters high. Among the three waterfalls, the last waterfall is the longest and looks even more beautiful as the rainbow is seen most of the day. Ghorle waterfall can be reached from Sankhuwasabha Kimathanka-Jogwani Road, Joubari of Barhbise. It is 11 km from Joubari.

Pokali Waterfall – Okhaldhunga

Pokali Waterfall is located in Pokhali VDC of Okhaldhunga, Nepal. It is also known as “Dughdeshow Mahadev” by locals. Other attractions of this place are the Likhu River, Dudheshowr Temple, Chulivan forest etc.

Baala Falls – Baala jharana is located at Bardev, Konjyosom, Lalitpur. It is a natural swimming pool near Kathmandu. It is also known as Konjysom waterfall in Konjysom rural municipality.

Rani Waterfalls – Rani Waterfalls is located at Thankre–6 in southern Dhading. One can also experience the adventure sport of canyoning at the Rani waterfall.

Chhange Jharana – Chhange waterfall is located at Dhulikhel. It is approximately 26 km from Banepa Bazar.
