Footprints in the Himalayas: Manaslu circuit trek

Manaslu Circuit trekking takes account of amazing views of the Manaslu which borders the Annapurna Conservation Area to the west and the Tibetan Plateau to the north and east. Since 1991, Manaslu trekking has been conducted around Mt. Manaslu the 8th highest mountain in the entire world which offers a sight into pure natural and cultural conditions of the region.

You will be passing through Hindu and Tibetan-style villages and green landscapes. Moving northwards, the gorge brings in to exposes charming alpine meadows and small Tibetan-style villages that gather below the North Face of Manaslu. For decades, Tibetan immigrants have settled in this far-flung region of Nepal, and the villages here represent generations of these people. The stone-roofed Buddhist villages such as Namrung, Lho, Samaguan, and Sambdo set against the towering giants of Manaslu and the Himalchuli Massif are really splendid.

Ultimately, the Manaslu Circuit trekking path takes us to Samagaon, the chief and most important village in the region. In Sama gaon, we take an extra day to acclimatize and explore Samagaon monastery. We cross the long glacier of Larkya La pass (5106m), a typical and rough route between the Budhi Gandaki with the Marsyangdi valley which will let you enjoy a panoramic scene including Manaslu, Cheo and Himlung.

Over the pass we walk out through the Marshandgi valley, following the Dudhkoshi River in now the Annapurna Conservation Area in Manang through Magar villages. We then, move down passing alongside stunning alpine pastures at Bimtang, before combining the main Annapurna Circuit road and finally the trailhead to Besi Sahar.
